Living an active lifestyle after massive weight-loss

Having a healthier, more active lifestyle is crucial to keeping your body in shape.  If you are looking for ways to achieve a more active lifestyle, there are some really simple tricks of the trade that will transform your body and confidence.

Walking has always been at the top of the list for choosing an active lifestyle.  And, honestly, it’s there for a reason.  Walking is great for your heart, your core, and your weight control.  By parking far away from a store entrance and walking, you can help yourself tremendously.  Likewise, look for the stairs at your work instead of taking the elevator.  On top of these habitual ways of walking, you can also make a habit of walking around the neighborhood or on a treadmill for about 20 minutes a day.  Whether you choose the morning, noon, or night, getting a solid 20 minutes a day can transform your body.

When your heart rate is ready for some action, consider getting in a quick arm workout.  Pushups are incredibly effective and require no equipment.  Getting on the floor will never give you such good results.  Doing pushups for about ten minutes a day, if that, will get your arms toned in no time.  It also helps tone up your core and burn calories.

An active lifestyle does not equate to gym rat.  You can accomplish a lot with little time and little knowledge of doing so.  Stay on top of your chores and see how active you become.  Laundry, cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, and scrubbing require the use of your muscles.  By working hard to get your house clean, you will notice that your house looks good and your body looks even better.

Being active involves a lot of movement.  Instead of sitting down, stand up and walk around.  Spend your weekends walking around downtown.  Go on bike rides, take the kids shopping, and watch television while you’re on the treadmill.  By getting out of the house, or staying active within it, you will notice that your physique changes, your energy levels increase, and your hormones produce much happier attitudes.

Having energy to stay active requires a healthier diet.  While you’re in the middle of cleaning your kitchen, chunk the donuts and choose some fruit.  By changing your snacks, you’ll notice a drastic change in your lifestyle.  Food plays a vital role in your energy levels.  While working out and maintaining an active lifestyle is imperative, it has to be in conjunction with eating healthy foods.

Watch your foods, count calories, or keep a food journal.  Do whatever it takes to ensure your health.  Stay active with a fun schedule.  Fill your days with fun adventures like hiking, cycling, or yoga.  Use exercise as your personal time.  Spend some alone time doing Pilates or grab a friend, if you’d like, and go swimming.  Find ways to have fun that do not include sitting still.  Get up, get your blood flowing, and enjoy a healthier, more active lifestyle.
